A tree of life with branches terminating in animal heads(waq-waq tree) grows the height of the ivory field under light blue spandrels and within a poetic inscription cartouche inner border. The main border has confronted and combating animals. This rug is c. 1890 and probably emanates from the Mohtasham workshop. The weave is fine and regular and the drawing is fluent.
