The ur-classic Persian “Ardebil” 16th century carpets have inspired untold many copies, interpretations and adaptations around the rug weaving eworld. This attractive example retains the dark blue field, pendanted medallion and corners, and the pair of hanging lamps.The borders are narrower and in arabesque vine patterns. This c. 1920 carpet will satisfy the most exacting traditionalist client. The weave is close and the pile is in excellent condition.
